Welcome to our parish (Directions)

Fr. Clarence J. Cerwonka Welcome. Thank you for visiting Most Holy Rosary Parish's website.
Most Holy Rosary is located in Maine, New York. The Hamlet of Maine was established on March 27, 1848. Many of our first settlers were Revolutionary Soldiers. Having been through this area with General Clinton or General Sullivan on their long marches, they returned after the war to settle here with their families.
Father John Phelan celebrated our first Mass in December of 1941 in the home of Jesse Wade. The collection for the first Mass was $2.80. How far we have come! You can read more of our history by going to the 'History' page link.
We celebrated our 50th Anniversary as a Parish in 2006. It was an occasion filled with much joy and much thanksgiving.
Our faith community is diverse and vibrant. We have Religious Education classes for our youth, and continue our adult education with Bible classes, parish missions and guest speakers.
This fall will mark the 33rd Anniversary of our Oktoberfest. This is our single fund-raising event for the year. What teamwork! It is truly amazing to witness!
God has truly blessed the people of this parish. We continue to grow in faith and in number, and we invite you to join us.
May God Bless You,

Father Clarence J. Cerwonka
Pastor

About Our Parish

Mission Statement of Most Holy Rosary Church

We, the community of Most Holy Rosary, seek to imitate Mary, our model, in her attitude of service. We seek to serve our entire geographical community in its diversity and disparity of wealth, and variety of ethnic origin. We strive to be the image of Jesus Christ making Him incarnate here and now. United by the Holy Spirit at the Eucharist, we hear the word of God and surrender to it as Mary did. We stretch our faith to "Expect a Miracle," and watch in awe as God performs them in our everyday lives for His glory and our joy.
