Parish Groups & Ministries

Trustees


Contact Emil Stastny or Jill King: Work with the pastor on budget and other financial matters, as well as advise and oversee a variety of church functions.


Parish Council


Contact Fr. Cerwonka, administrator; Charles Hunt, president; or Fran Olsen, vice president: Oversees and coordinates all parish organizations and activities, communicates with other parishes. Advises pastor.


Benevolent Committee


Contact George McKeon, chairman: Distributes MHR's tithe to needy individuals and organizations, and also awards an annual scholarship of $500 to a graduating high school senior in the parish.


Religious Education


Contact Peg Acciai, director: CCD program plus many other educational and informative programs for children and adults of the parish.


Human Development Committee


Contact co-chairs Darlene Voltz and Fran Olsen: Works with Catholic Charities for Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets, also for the Christmas Giving Tree.


Liturgy


Contact Fr. Cerwonka, chairman: Committee meets with Father to plan the liturgy and many celebrations.


Music


Contact Sue Helmer, director: Prepares music ministry for liturgical services and seasonal events. Trains choir. Robert Henrich works with the Accoustical Group and supports Sue and the choir at many events.


Social


Contact Eloise Spak: This committee provides luncheons after funerals of parishioners, as well as snacks or even meals after various functions in the church.


Stewardship


Contact John Sienko: Organizes the annual "Time and Talent" surveys, and provides a listing of volunteers to scheduling group. Also arranges the summer parish picnic.


Oktoberfest


Contact Matt Karp, chairperson: The primary fund-raiser for Most Holy Rosary, held in late September. Organizes the many hands that are necessary for this highly successful annual event.


Knights of Columbus Council #11621


Contact Rich Stone, president: Defenders of the faith, part of a worldwide organization. Open to all men of the parish. Breakfast buffet provides money to support a child in Ugandan schools, as well as a $500 scholarship to a graduating senior from Most Holy Rosary parish. Recent donations have been made to the parish for the purchase of new tables and chairs for the hall. Provides physical, spiritual and financial support for many church activities and events.


Building and Grounds


Contact George Stephens: Maintenance of the church buildings and grounds -- general repairs, as well as supervise professional repairs.


Finance


Contact John Lupo: Maintains records of daily finances and operations. Works with accountant, Charles Barrett, to audit finances. Prepares annual report to parishioners of parish finances.


Regional Diocesan Pastoral Council


Contact Bob Taylor: Our parish representative to the quarterly meetings of the regional group of the Diocese of Syracuse.


Parish Life (Hearts and Hands of Mary)


Contact Pat Krzyzewski: Open to all women of the parish. The group has a prayer chain, a sunshine mailing and has revitalized the "loaves and fishes" for individuals in temporary need of meals. Also, they choose religious books and articles to read as a group.


Maintenance


Contact Bryan and Debra Takacs: Cleans the church on a weekly basis, mows the lawns during the summer months, and takes care of walks and steps during the winter. Plowing is done by an outside concern.
